So, I’ve had this idea for a zine for quite a while, and while the print version is on its way (eventually), this is a cool way to get it started.
Fair enough, right?
A very brief bit of history on how this came to be:
I don’t keep a journal in “real life,” but have, over the course of the last few years, accumulated volumes of notebooks that in one way or another chronicle my experiences. Since moving out on my own, I have cultivated a passion for two things: food and creating social change. In my not-so-humble opinion, these are two great tastes that go great together. In fact, it is through these two pursuits that I have found “my community.”
And since I don’t have a journal, but instead tomes of food-splattered recipes from across Canada and the US, and boxes full of ratty-edged postcards and pamphlets from campaigns past, I believe that it is in those pages that you can find my autobiography. It is in that intersection where you can find my story.
So this is my chance to soap-box about my favorite recipes, give tips, share anecdotes, exchange ideas and swap suggestions. This is interactive. Jump in!
Because food is revolution. And I can’t wait to dance in the streets with you.
